The national forecaster Met Eireann have issued a weather warning for the West of the country for the next 48 hours as heavy rainfall is expected from today.
Met Eireann say the vast majority of rainfall will fall in the North West with Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo expects to see between 50 and 80mm of rain.
The warning will remain in place until Saturday, with more rain expected to come over the weekend.
