Former Kerry footballer, Aidan O’Mahony was crowned the winner of the first series of Dancing With The Stars last night on RTE One.
He managed to beat stiff competition from the likes of Des Cahill and Katherine Lynch to reach the final.
There the 36-yr-old and his partner Valeria Milova beat former Fair City star Aoibhin Garrihy and Red Rock actress Denise McCormack and performed three dances for the grand finale.
Social Media users weren’t happy with the result however with the fact that the judges considerations seemed to be irrelevant of the actual end result.
The garda is said to have received votes from the GAA and garda communities respectively.
Various comments on The Liberal’s page have said the following:
“He was the worst dancer on the show, one of the girls deserved it”
“What was the point in having judges if they can’t have a say in the final outcome?”
“Another waste of RTE money with that result, Aoibhin deserved to win”
