What goes around, comes around they say, and in some cases, the hunter becomes the hunted.
A suspected poacher was killed and partly consumed by a pack of lions at a private game park near Kruger National Park in South Africa, on Saturday morning. The animals ate most of the body, leaving just a few scraps of torn flesh and his head as a trophy.
A loaded hunting rifle was found near the remains.
Lions have been poached in great numbers, as their body parts are highly sought after for traditional medicines across South Africa.
It is estimated that less than 20,000 African lions remain in the wild.
