Will he or won’t he? Enda Kenny said to be under immense pressure to step down as Fine Gael leader

That smile might well just be about to be wiped off the Taoiseach’s face as Enda Kenny comes under immense pressure to step down as the leader of Fine Gael.

After much speculation, the Taoiseach Enda Kenny will finally make his intentions know to the Fine Gael parliamentary party later this evening.

Kenny is said to be under serious fire from his parliamentary colleagues over the Maurice McCabe debacle- but it appears his own party members, rather than the public, who want him out more than anyone else.

The Taoiseach is set to either state when he intends to leave office, or whether he’ll fight on and face a possible vote of no confidence motion from his party members.

Either way, Leo Varadkar, Simon Coveney and unbelievably 30-yr-old Simon Harris are all waiting in the wings to fight out a leadership battle.
