The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Paschal Donohoe has confirmed today that the state will have an extra €2.65bn added to this year budget.
The news was announced earlier today with Mr Donohoe confirming that all government departments will have the opportunity to apply for extra funding if they feel it is required.
It is thought the extra funding has been made available after the Inland Revenue recorded more tax profits than expected in the latter part of 2016.
Mr Donohoe has all Departments have until the end of February to submit their request for extra funding.
