The 23rd Winter Olympics have officially commenced, after a grand opening ceremony was held in the South Korean city of Pyeongchang.
The ceremony, titled Peace in Motion, got underway earlier today, watched by 35,000 people at the Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium, and millions more across the globe.
The event was made even more significant as athletes from South and North Korea are set to march together under a so-called “unification flag”.
This edition of the Winter Olympics will include 102 events across 15 different sports, held over the next 17 days.
