Wintry weather set to worsen over the weekend, with lows of -3C expected in places




The current blast of winter weather is set to worsen over the weekend, with temperatures of -3C likely in some areas.

Weather conditions will be relative mild today, Thursday, with highs of 13C possible.

Friday will begin dry and reasonably dry, but rain will spread from the west, becoming persistent towards evening.

Saturday will be a mixture of bright spells and showers, with temperatures reaching perhaps 10C.

Sunday is expected to be rather bright and cold, with temperatures dropping to below zero towards evening and during the night.

Early indications are for a return of milder conditions next week.
