A woman in her 50’s has escaped uninjured after her house went on fire this morning in Ennis, Co Clare.
Following the detection of the fire, emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 6:40am.
Gardaí arrived first, helping the woman from her upstairs bedroom which was ablaze.
Firefighters from two units of the fire brigade entered the house to check if anyone else was inside. They tackled the fire which was quickly brought under control.
The woman was treated at the scene for about an hour and did not travel to hospital.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
