Gardaí in Kilkenny have begun an investigation after a woman was seriously injured in a car crash on the outskirts of the city this afternoon.
The woman who was quickly rushed to St Luke’s Hospital, remains in serious condition after the car she was travelling in collided with another vehicle on the N10 road.
Gardaí say the stretch of road between Kilkenny city and the M9 was closed off for a number of hours following the incident which occurred approximately 12.30pm.
They also say the occupants of the other vehicle received minor injuries following the collision and were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure, however it is believed they have since been discharged.
