Social media commentators have reacted to the abortion debate on Claire Byrne tonight by saying that was a clear victory for the No side.
Two points that appeared to seal victory was when a lady who’s unborn baby was miscarried at around 12 weeks said that her daughter was fully formed, had a little smile on her beautiful face and even had her hand resting under her chin.
She asked Dr Peter Boylan did he still think babies were not fully formed at 12 weeks to which Boylan said yes and heard laughter from the audience.
The ultimate however was when Dr John Monaghan immediately jumped into action with a description of an unborn baby at 12 weeks stating that it is fully formed and just needs to grow.
Boylan then stuck for words heard Dr Monaghan say “perhaps you need to go back to school”, which heard cheers from the audience.
A referendum on the Eighth Amendment will be held on May 25th. Currently the Eighth Amendment is the only protection Irish unborn babies from abortion.
Polls are open from 7am until 10pm on May 25th.
