The Department of Foreign Affairs have confirmed that a 22-year-old man from Co Cavan has sadly died following a crash in New Zealand.
It is believed that the young man died in a single-vehicle crash which happened in the town of Leeston in Canterbury on Friday night. The Department of Foreign Affairs say that victim was named by New Zealand Police on Sunday as Martin Cadden and they have informed his family of the tragic news.
It is understood that the young man was in New Zealand on a working visa.
