A young man from the UK has reportedly died after playing an internet game which involves participants being filmed as they  punch each other.

Mr Main, of Erith, south-east London, collapsed at a party in the early hours of Sunday morning, and was rushed by ambulance to hospital in critical condition but died shortly afterwards. Police say they are treating his death as suspicious.

Police were called to the scene of the party after being alerted by the ambulance crew.

Detective Inspector Michael Norman who is in change of the investigation made a statement in which he said: “Tommy’s death is being treated as unexplained but I would urge any of his friends who were at the party on the night of his death to make contact.
“I am especially interested in any images or footage from the night of his death.”

It is understood that Toxicology tests have been requested after the results of the post-mortem examination, which was carried out at the Princess Royal Hospital, were inconclusive.

This new social media craze is called Punch4Punch involves two people taking turns to hit each other until one gives up, sometimes drinking alcohol as a forfeit and the footage is then posted online.
