According to the Metro, a Russian teenager is facing up to ten years in prison after she stabbed her alleged attacker.

The case which has become a viral story across the country, comes after the young woman involved was charged with Grevious Bodily Harm after she stabbed a man who tried to rape her.

It is understood the woman Darya Ageniy, 18, from Black Sea resort of Tuapse, southern Russia, is being charged after the man Igor Storozhev, claimed that he suffered damage to his bowel following the stabbing.

However Ms Ageniy, claims that the father of four attacked her and tried to rape her.

Ms Ageniy told police that Mr Storozhev grabbed her from behind and threatened her with a knife before attempting to remove her underwear.

The student also told police officers that Storozhev had her bent over but her hands remained free which left her being able to grab a blade which she uses in art class before proceeding to stab him.

Ms Ageniy also told police that Storozhev fled the scene straight away.

Hoe Storozhev has since denied Ms Ageniy’s claims saying that he was reading her poetry and she decided to attack him.

Prosecuters investigating the case say they decided not to investigate Ageniy’s alleged rape case as there was no evidence to support her claims and therefore proceeded to charge her with Grevious Bodily Harm.

Although an investigation is still ongoing, Ageniy’s defence have highlighted that a number of a flaws has been discovered in terms of the initial police investigation.

However police are said to be continuing with their case against Ageniy and no formal investigation has begun against Mr Storozhev.
