
The government won a vote of confidence in the Dail – 85 TDs voted for the Coalition and 66 against.
Taoiseach Micheal Martin has already broadly defended his administration’s performance to date and accused Sinn Féin of cynicism, aggressive populism and dishonesty.
Mr Martin tabled a motion declaring the Dail has confidence in the government, prompted by Sinn Féin’s plan to table a motion of no confidence tonight.
