The Education Department has advised schools in several counties to close tomorrow to allow time to assess the impact of Storm Barra.
The Department advises that all schools that are currently or may be in a red or orange warning zone are to remain closed tomorrow, December 8th.
These are the counties of Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Limerick, Clare, Galway, Mayo and Wexford. ”
The Department said that schools that are no longer in a red or orange warning zone could reopen if principals responded to concerns and were given the opportunity to search for downed power lines and other serious damage to proximity to school buildings.
