The British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced that the UK and the EU has made a “decisive breakthrough” on post-Brexit trading arrangements.
Speaking at a press conference with EU chief Ursula von der Leyen in Windsor, Sunak said: “I’m pleased to report that we have now made a decisive breakthrough.
“Together we have changed the original protocol and are today announcing the new Windsor Framework.
“Today’s agreement delivers smooth-flowing trade within the whole United Kingdom, protects Northern Ireland’s place in our union and safeguards sovereignty for the people of Northern Ireland.”
Sunak and von der Leyen agreed the deal in principle today and that it was created by the Northern Ireland Protocol during a summit at Windsor, England, this afternoon.
