Four men were sentenced to up to 19 years in prison for raping a defenceless 17-yr-old girl in 2016 as she tried to make her way home after a night out. The girl got separated from her friends and ended up getting into the car with the thugs.
Judge Tara Burns said the gang of men raped the woman and behaved like animals. A fifth man was convicted of sexual assault.
According to RTE, 22-yr-old foreigner Marcus De Silva Umbelino, of Block C, Riverview, Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath, was sentenced to 14 years for rape and four years twice for sexual assault.
Eduardo Dias Ferreiera Filho, 24, of Block D, Riverview, Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath, was sentenced to 17 years for oral rape, four and a half years for sexual assault and eight years for falsely imprisoning the girl, reports the national broadcaster.
Gabriel Gomes Da Rocha, 24, of Mount Armstrong, Rahan, Tullamore, Co Offaly, was sentenced to 19 and 15 years for rape at two different locations and four and a half years for sexual assault. He was sentenced to eight years in prison for illegal detention.
RTE reports that Ethan Nikolaou, 23, of Brosna Park, Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath, was sentenced to six and four years for two counts of sexual assault.
Irish thug 24-yr-old Conor Byrne, of Ballybeg, Moate, Co. Westmeath, who pleaded guilty, was sentenced to 10 years in prison due to pleading guilty.
It’s understood that all sentences will be served concurrently.
