President Vladimir Putin has called for a truce with the conflict in Ukraine over the next 36 hours to observe a break while the Orthodox Christian religion observes Christmas.
Christmas Day is on January 7th in their religion and the truce will last from Christmas Eve until the day after Christmas Day.
It’s not yet known what the Ukraine’s response to the truce will be, but it appears to be a positive step.
