The fatal crash took place at Cooga Cross on the main Doon to Cappamore road, at approximately 3:30pm today.
The deceased was the driver and sole occupant of a car which collided with a truck.
Nobody else was injured in the crash. His body has been removed to the mortuary at Limerick Regional Hospital.
The road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic examination.
