4-year-old boy dies in tragic accident in Wales when he got his head stuck in the gap of double stairgate

In a tragic accident a 4-year-old boy has died in Wales when he got his head stuck in a “homemade” double stairgate.

According to the Irish Mirror, Draco Chapman got stuck between two stairgates in a door that had been attached, one above the other.  There was a gap of around six inches between the two stairgates and he got stuck as he tried to climb over.

Draco was being looked after by an older sibling at the time of the accident as his mother Rachel was out at a parents’ evening.  When he was found, his older brother attempted CPR after calling emergency services.

The little boy was taken to hospital and put into an induced coma as doctors battled to save him.  Sadly, this proved impossible and his doctor told the coroner that Draco was found to have suffered neurotic asphyxiation from accidental hanging, and a cardiac respiratory arrest.
