77-yr-old man tried to sell ill-gotten erectile drugs in Florida retirement home

A 77-yr-old man in Florida has been arrested for allegedly buying $1,800 (£1,500) worth of erectile dysfunction drugs without a prescription and intending to sell them at his large retirement community and elsewhere, reports Breaking News.

The man was arrested last month in The Villages, northwest of Orlando, where he lives with about 80,000 full-time residents. The community was featured in the 2020 documentary Some Kind of Heaven.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the crime charged and agreed to have his case heard before a magistrate instead of a jury.

If convicted, he could face federal prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

In the lawsuit, prosecutors allege the man obtained more than 1,800 erectile dysfunction drugs through interstate commerce, reports Breaking News.

Federal authorities say the drugs were mislabeled because the man obtained them without a valid prescription

Villages are no strangers to stories about the sex lives of its residents. For decades this leisure paradise has been plagued by rumors of swings, public sex and high rates of sexually transmitted diseases.

However, a Tampa Bay Times report last year found that the three counties where The Village is located have significantly lower sexually transmitted disease rates than Florida as a whole, reports Breaking News.
