
Early this morning, an adolescent lad lost his life in a traffic accident in County Mayo, reports RTE.
Just before one in the morning, a single car crashed on the R316 in Keel, Acaill.
At the scene, the 17-year-old teenager who was travelling alone was declared dead, reports RTE.
Access to locations on Acaill, west of Keel, is impacted by the road’s closure for a technical assessment.
Any witnesses from the vicinity at the time, especially those with dash-cam or other video material, are being urged by the Garda to call any garda station or Westport Garda Station at 098 502 30 or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.
So far this year, the kid is the sixth person to die on the roadways, reports RTE.
