Air France flight forced to return to Dublin Airport after discovering cracked windshield while airborne

Air France flight AF-1617, an Avro RJ-85 jet en route to Charles de Gaulle airport in France, was forced to return to Dublin Airport shortly after take-off, after the crew noticed a crack in its windshield.

The aircraft stopped their ascent to cruise altitude and returned to the airport, landing safely about 50 minutes later.

A replacement aircraft took the passengers and the flight departed towards its destination without further incident.
