
On foot of the international outrage caused by the slaying of Cecil the Lion by an American citizen in Zimbabwe, American Airlines, Delta, and United Airlines have all banned the transport of lion, leopard, elephant, rhino or buffalo killed by trophy hunters.
Zimbabwe has called for the extradition of Walter Palmer, the man accused of killing the animal.
The 13-year-old lion had been fitted with a GPS collar as part of an Oxford University study.
