Armed Gardai are now patrolling the streets of Drogheda in response to ongoing violence around the town.
Feuding gangs are vying for control of the drug trade in the area, prompting violent acts on both sides.
There is also an ongoing investigation into ‘credible’ threats made against two members of the Gardai who are probing the gangs’ actions.
