As bitterly cold weather approaches Ireland, almost 10,400 Irish people are now homeless

Met Eireann have announced that Ireland may see its first snowfall of winter 2019 this week with bitterly cold temperatures making their way to Ireland over the coming 24 hours.

That’s awful news for the decent Irish people who are sleeping on park benches, shop door fronts, streets and hotel rooms around the country.

What really adds to that is the fact that almost ten and a half THOUSAND people are now homeless in Ireland.

It’s the third month in a row for the number of people seeking emergency accommodation to rise.

According to latest figures published by the Department of Housing there were 10,397 people homeless in September.

The figures mark yet another increase showing that there are 3,873 children in emergency accommodation.

They also showed that there was a total of 1,756 children homeless in the month of September.
