As the government does everything for endless numbers of Ukrainians pour into the country, Irish student says she may be forced to live in a tent to attend college in Dublin

Shauna Young from Kells in County Meath says that she may be forced to sleep in a tent to attend college in Dublin.

As thousands of Ukrainians continue to flood into the country, Irish students are being left behind and out in the cold this winter as student accommodation seems next to none.

One such student spoke with RTE saying that she’s commuting up to 5 hours a day, is exhausted and is missing student life on campus because it’s just too expensive to get digs.

She says that she has around €750 a month but everyone is looking for at least €1000 per month rent.

Her search continues in the hope that she’ll eventually find accommodation that will be somewhat affordable.
