Authorities have raided a number of premises across Ireland as part of an ongoing investigation into contaminated horse meat.
The premises, which included both farms and residential units, were spread across Roscommon, Leitrim, Sligo, Westmeath and Kilkenny.
Authorities suspect that meat originating from horses that were destroyed for health reasons may have been packaged and sent abroad to be sold. Such products should never enter the human food chain.
The investigation is ongoing.
