Bad sportsmanship? England players criticised for taking off runners up medals following Euro 2020

On a night when it was supposed to be coming home, England fans were left disappointed as Italy came out on top to claim the Euro 2020 trophy.

However despite many feeling proud of the nations achievements in reaching the final, some English fans weren’t happy with some of the team members decision to immediately remove their runner’s up medals during the presentation ceremony.

In a flurry of comments on social media, quite a lot of English fans and indeed fans of the game across the globe were questioning the players decision with many calling it bad sportsmanship.

Although not all of the team decided to remove their medals it seems that the decision of some of the players has been called distasteful and showed a clear lack of respect.

What do you think? Were the English players wrong to remove their runner’s up medals?
