Experts have warned that eating a slice or two Christmas could put you over the drink driving limit and have warned motorists to take extra care and watch what they eat and drink this festive season.
According to experts All Cars Leasing in the UK, eating a slice or two of rum cake or Christmas cake could technically put you over the legal limit as they are generally covered in brandy or other spirits.
Experts say drivers could be put over the limit by the cake especially of they have a glass of wine with their Christmas Dinner.
The researchers also found that a number of other Christians themed foods including red wine gravy and mince pies could potentially spike your blood alcohol level above the legal limit.
It is thought the research was carried out as the vast majority of people admitted to having a single drink with their Christmas Dinner.
