The fire brigade have issued stern warnings for the upcoming Halloween festival weekend.
John Thompson said:
“It’s imperative people are extra vigilant this weekend”.
“We ask young people to be careful using fireworks and when they’re around bonfires. Likewise, we ask them to be considerate to people around them particularly the elderly and animals.”
“We know people will be using fireworks, but please be very careful as they can be extremely dangerous”.
“I’d like people to keep an eye on their elderly neighbours and ensure they don’t open the doors to anyone on Halloween night itself, even trick or treaters.”
“Finally, I ask people to share this message with their friends and be extra careful when out and about on the roads.”
