
Boris Johnson is willing to look the European Union in the eye and not blink in regards to the issue of the Irish border, according to experts.
Johnson is putting it up to the EU already with hard talk, something Theresa May was completely unable to do.
The Irish government is now facing increasing pressure after the new British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced he will take Britain out of the European Union one way or the other before the October exit date.
Britain’s new Prime Minister and laid out his plans, including ensuring that Brexit happens, no matter what.
Mr Johnson declared that it was an “extraordinary honour and privilege” to be elected the new Tory leader and pledged to “energise the country” following the announcement that he was indeed to become the new Prime Minister.
“The campaign is over and the work begins,” he added, according to Sky News.
The backstop is the main focus of concern and one now has to wonder whether there’ll once again be a hard border on the island of Ireland.
