He’s arguably one of the most eccentric politicians in recent times, but it appears as the days go by that Boris Johnson is now likely to become the UK’s next Prime Minister.

In the latest round of voting last night, the former foreign secretary secured 126 votes with Jeremy Hunt coming in second being backed by 46, while Michael Gove was third receiving 41 votes and Rory Stewart got 37.

Sajid Javid scraped through to the next round with the required 33 votes, while Dominic Raab was eliminated.

Brexit is due to happen on October 31st and Johnson, who led one of the Brexit side’s teams, will be tasked with the job to deliver it.

However, many believe that under Johnson it’ll be a “soft” Brexit and ineffective compared to what hard-line Brexiteers want.
