18-year-old Sarah O’Neill, a pupil at Loreto School in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin, received great news last Wednesday when she opened her Leaving Cert results envelope to find that she had passed every subject.

Sarah achieved such great results despite having attended less than 25 school days due to severe illness.

She was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in June 2014. She has undergone chemotherapy, major surgery, and radiation therapy over the past few months.

Brave Sarah is now looking forward to attending her debs at the end of this month and starting a PLC course in nursing in September.

She said “If I’ve got anything from this, its finding out what I want to do in the future; I knew I always wanted to do a job that helps other people, something that is rewarding,”

“Seeing what was involved made me want to do it.”
