An investigation is underway this afternoon after a garda was stabbed and quite seriously injured in Galway.
The garda is a member of the armed response unit and was responding to an incident in the Oranmore area of the city.
It’s understood the garda was wearing a stab vest but is currently being treated in hospital for non life threatening injuries.
A man has been arrested for the stabbing.
