Breaking: Forecasters say Red Weather Alert now likely as up to 40cm of snow is due to fall




Met Eireann are monitoring the incoming inclement weather and a number of meteorologists now say that a national status Red Weather Alert will be issued later today.

It’s understood that experts believe at least 30-40cm of snow will fall across the country, mostly the East coast, over a 36 hour period starting from tea time today.

Numerous weather alerts have stated that we are currently in am Amber Weather Warning having been updated from Status Yellow.

To be clear – a yellow warning means be prepared, amber means take action and red means that both people and property are in danger and to get inside and stay there.
