French police have shot dead a man who tried to stab a number of people in a park in the city of Villejuif near Paris.
It’s understood that the attack happened at lunchtime with local media reporting that at least one person is severely injured from being stabbed by the man.
A motive is not yet known but given France’s track record of horrendous Islamic terrorist attacks, this could well prove to be another added to that list.
The BBC are reporting that witnesses say the man was wearing an “explosive vest” but that a police spokesman cannot at this time determine whether it was terrorism or not.
