
Update: Gardai have arrested a man at the back of a retail unit in the area. No description of the man is being made public at this time.
A woman in her 20s sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a suspected assault in Cork city centre.
The incident took place at a residential property on Evergreen Road before 9am on Monday.
It’s understood the woman ran from the property with a young child in her arms.
It’s understood that paramedics treated the woman at the scene before she was was rushed to Cork University Hospital (CUH) for further evaluation. Gardaí responded promptly, sealing off the area for a technical examination.
They are currently seeking a young male in connection with the stabbing and are reviewing CCTV footage to track movements in the vicinity.
They are not giving out any further information at this time and will not give a description of the young man to the media.
