A man in his 40s was seriously injured following an assault on Westmoreland Street, near O’Connell Street, at around 6:30am Sunday morning. The victim was rushed to St James’s Hospital for treatment.
A significant portion of O’Connell Street has been cordoned off as Gardaà preserve the scene for investigation. Authorities are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
Gardai say that they’re gathering as much information as possible and that they need portions of the street cordoned off at this time.
