The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has told the Fianna Fail parliamentary party that both junior and senior infants will also now likely return to school on March 1st.
The meeting went on late on Wednesday night where there was large uncertainty that the youngest school children may not return at the start of March.
However, it’s understood that Martin said that it is now very likely that both junior and senior infants students will be returning on that date in certain schools where possible with the remaining students in schools that cannot open immediately to return over the next number of weeks.
