A second boy has sadly died following a collision between a bus and an e-scooter in Waterford in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The incident occurred shortly after 2am on the R680 Cork Road.
A 15-yr-old boy, who was travelling on the e-scooter, was pronounced dead at the scene while a a second boy, aged 17, who was also on the e-scooter, was rushed to Waterford University Hospital with serious injuries.
It’s been confirmed that he too has sadly died this afternoon.
The driver of the bus was uninjured but was treated for shock. There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the collision.
Gardai have appealed for anyone who was travelling on the Cork Road in Waterford city between 1.45am and 2.15am, to contact Waterford Garda Station on 051 305300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 66-6 -11 or any garda station.
