The government are about to give special powers to An Gardai tonight with the Minister for Health Simon Harris to sign in the orders.
Harris will sign in the orders that will give An Gardai legal leeway to enforce coronavirus lockdown restrictions that are already implemented but that some people are flaunting.
The new laws, the government claims, are to ensure that people remain at home and are needed because many people were not adhering to the measures.
