Bretagne the last surviving dog from 9/11 given VIP treatment in honour of her 16th birthday

Today is marks the 14th anniversary of 9/11 a day that shook America and the world, after terrorists destroyed the World Trade Centre and killed many thousands of innocent lives. The tragic day also saw many rescue workers desperately try and save many lives and recently many of those heroes came together along with American the nation to celebrate one very special birthday of the last surviving rescue dog from that tragic day.

The dog named Bretagne was one of the first to respond to the scene of the disaster and bravely helped find those trapped in the ruble of the collapsed world trade centres, has been the highlight of the US and worlds media this week as she celebrated her 16th birthday.

The heroic dog along with her handler, Denise Corless, was given a 16th birthday day out to remember to honor their brave actions on that day. Bretagne was given VIP treatment as she was taken by stretch limo to a private suite in 1 Hotel Central Park, where she also received room service and was later taken to visit to a nearby park.

However the admiration for Bretange didn’t stop there as picture of her was posted on a billboards throughout the city, the heroic dog was also given a pile of presents to cap off the day.

The event was organised by BarkBox, who say they had to do something to celebrate Bretange’s birthday as heroic efforts at Ground Zero will never be forgotten.
