There have been widespread calls for gymnasiums up and down the country to be allowed reopen their doors to the public on the same date that hairdressers and barbers open their doors on May 10th.
Campaigns have launched on social media seeing gym owners pleading with Dr Tony Holohan and Micheal Martin to allow them to open in a safe and secure environment.
Gyms have been closed since before Christmas and while other sporting events such as tennis and golf have restarted, gym owners think that it’s only fair that they too be allowed reopen.
Hairdressers and barbers can reopen for appointment only from May 10th and gym owners say that they too could operate an appointment only service if necessary for the timebeing.
