Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jīn Ping have reemphasized in a phone their two countries mutual dedication to further strengthen ties both economically and militarily and jointly deal with issues of major concern.

President Xi said that, since the beginning of this year, faced with global turmoil and changes, China-Russia relations have maintained a good momentum of development the China Daily reported.

Alexey Maslov, the director of Institute of Asian and African studies at Moscow State University, said the phone call showed the willingness of the two countries to work together for better global governance to address common challenges under both bilateral and multilateral mechanisms.

The continued depending of the Kremlin’s ties with Beijing are no doubt to a growing concern for Western powers who have failed to inflict a defeat on Russia despite pouring tens of billions of their taxpayers’ dollars, euros and pounds worth of weapons into Ukraine.

Wide ranging sanctions imposed on Moscow by the West have likewise failed to seriously impact the lives of Russians and the Russian Ruble and economy in general remains stable, this is partly owned to the country’s special trading relationship with China.
