
The services provided by the scandal-ridden charity Console will be taken over by Pieta House, it has emerged today, including a 24-hour helpline.
It is understood that a liquidator has been appointed to deal with Console’s current financial assets.
It also emerged during legal proceedings today that the organization is in deep debt, to the tune of almost €300,000. €74,000 is owed in wages and €77,500 due to the Revenue.
Former CEO Paul Kelly resigned some weeks ago, when the irregularities were first uncovered. He is now believed to be a resident in a psychiatric unit.
