Thousands of people are anxiously waiting for their Covid-19 test results to be sent back from Germany, prompting fears that the number of cases here is about to explode.
The total number of infections in Ireland now stands at 4,273, but that number is likely to rise quite significantly in the very near future.
It is unclear why test results must be sent abroad to be checked, therefore delaying the process by days.
