The HSE announced on Saturday evening that there was 1968 new confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Republic of Ireland with another 38 people dying.
It brings the total in the Republic of Ireland to 14,635 cases and 444 deaths with the government expecting a 30% increase daily from this week.
There’s 57% of men with coronavirus and 43% of women with the average age being 48.
Meanwhile in the north, there were 121 new confirmed cases today bringing the total in Northern Ireland to 2,088 with the total number of deaths there now standing at 140.
It means that as of Thursday morning, there’s a total of 540 deaths from coronavirus.
