Popular messaging app WhatsApp has announced the introduction of a limitation to message forwarding for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis.
The move follows reports of a ‘significant increase’ in message forwarding over the last few weeks.
Messages forwarded via the app have previously been linked to violent incidents and a number of deaths as people spread misleading or fake information and rumors.
