Government ministers are to meet later today to discuss further lockdown restrictions.
Taoiseach appointee Micheal Martin is said to be ‘extremely concerned’ about the current rate of daily coronavirus infections.
According to Mr. Martin, ‘nothing can be ruled out.’
It is now widely expected that a new lockdown will be imposed in the very near future.
